This 100% synthetic lubricant was originally designed to withstand the extreme conditions of reversing cocks on coke oven batteries in coke plants. This lubricant has a working temperature as low as minus 40° degrees Fahrenheit and is non-melting. This sophisticated formulation, exclusive only to Steelco Lubricants, Inc., allows for use in both high and arctic low temperatures.
Where conventional petroleum lubricants fail, Steelco’s S-66 SYN-TAL Lubricant excels. Being subjected to aggressive chemical components such as Ammonium Sulfate, Ammonia Complexes with Iron Sulfide. Thiocyanates, Cyanides and Aromatic Hydrocarbons (Benzene, Toluene, Zylene, etc.) this lubricant performs like no other available. The S-66 SYN-TAL was developed at the reequest of a major steel company who was having a problem in their coke plant reversing cocks. Their lubricant packing was failing because of elevated concentrations of Ammonium Sulfate allowing coke oven gas to breach the seal.
Steelco’s S-66 SYN-TAL was then developed to eliminate those often dangerous breaches of “pops”. Steelco’s S-66 SYN-TAL Lubricant offers excellent mechanical stability. The non-melting and arctic low characteristics demonstrate its thermal stability and will extend lubrication intervals several times that of conventional lubricants.
