The 5T Smeal GMC Pump Hoist is widely regarded as the most versatile and popular all-around pump hoist in the groundwater industry. Whether you are pulling small residential submersibles or heavy-duty line shaft turbines, this rig provides the stability and power required for a massive range of service applications.
This specific unit is a “time capsule” find, mounted on a 1994 GMC Top Kick with only 26,000 original miles. Powered by the reliable CAT 3116 diesel engine showing just 4,307 original hours, this package offers a level of longevity and condition rarely seen in pre-owned service equipment.
The heart of this rig is the 36 ft. telescoping mast, designed with an 11 ft. maximum layback to give you the reach and flexibility needed over the wellhead. It has a lifting power of 3,000 lbs. capacity on a single line, scaling up to a formidable 12,000 lbs. with a 4-part line. The mainline moves at a crisp 120 feet per minute, featuring a 7/16″ x 220′ cable and a 5-ton safety hook. Operating controls are conveniently located at the left rear for ground-level access, equipped with hydraulic bypass valves to prevent accidental overloading.
This 5T Smeal GMC Pump Hoist is not just a base model, it is fully outfitted for complex service work. Including but not limited to:
Sandline Winch (Sand Reel): Includes a 1,000 lb. capacity winch with a 325 fpm line speed. It features power-up/power-down functionality, a heavy-duty clutch for free-fall, and a rear-mounted level wind for perfect cable distribution.
Cat Head: Added for additional specialized hoisting and tooling needs.
Storage & Transport: Mounted on an IMT tool body for maximum organization, featuring 16 ft. solid bottom pipe racks on both sides. Each rack is equipped with ratchet straps and can carry approximately 700 ft. of 1″ pipe.
Oil Cooler: Integrated to ensure hydraulic performance stays consistent during long, hot summer pulls.
